How we manage...

Policy design, advocacy, and implementation

We support clients in designing effective policies, advocating for their adoption, and ensuring successful implementation. Our approach ensures policies are well-informed, strategically sound, and actionable. From research and analysis to advocacy and execution, we provide the insights and guidance needed to achieve meaningful, lasting change.

Where we step in

Policy design and strategy

We help clients define objectives, assess economic and social impacts, and develop data-driven solutions. Our approach includes regulatory analysis, scenario modeling, and meaningful engagement with affected communities and stakeholders. By ensuring alignment within organizations and leadership, we help clients build a solid foundation for advancing their policy goals.

Implementation and impact assessment

Successful implementation requires governance, oversight, and adaptation. We design compliance frameworks, track outcomes, and conduct impact assessments to measure effectiveness. Our strategic guidance helps clients navigate complexities, ensuring policies function as intended and remain responsive to evolving needs.

Policy advocacy and adoption

We help clients engage with governments, industry, and community leaders through policy papers, briefings, negotiations, and expert testimony. Whether advocating for Indigenous self-governance, benefit-sharing agreements, or regulatory reform, we ensure policies are backed by clear evidence and positioned for real impact.

Subject areas: Policy design

  • Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas: We assist Indigenous organizations and non-profit partners in establishing Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs) by providing data-driven analysis and strategic guidance. When boundaries are not yet defined, we use quantitative techniques to identify high-impact areas for inclusion. When boundaries are already established, we help clients determine what activities will take place and develop a full financial assessment of the program’s costs.

We equip clients with the tools to communicate the cost of implementation, the number of jobs created, and the economic impact on surrounding communities. Our work includes designing governance structures, as well as monitoring and evaluation plans, ensuring that IPCAs are effective, sustainable, and accountable to both external partners and the communities they serve.
  • Resource revenue management and distribution policies: We help organizations develop policies for managing and distributing resource revenues in a way that balances immediate community needs with long-term economic sustainability. Our work includes designing governance structures that establish decision-making authority, eligibility criteria, and fair distribution frameworks. We conduct financial modeling to assess sustainable investment strategies, ensuring revenues support economic growth beyond the life of the resource.
  • Economic development policy: We support organizations to design policies that drive long-term economic growth and self-sufficiency. Our work includes developing strategies to support business development, attract investment, and create sustainable economic opportunities. We conduct strategic assessment and economic modeling to assess the impact of different approaches, ensuring policies align with broader development goals.
